Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from his wife Tish last year, but he doesn't plan on being absent from his family.
In an exclusive interview with People, Cyrus says, "My family is the most important thing I have, and we are working together to make sure our future is stronger and healthier."
Recently, the singer told the magazine that fame "destroyed [his] family."
Now Cyrus claims that he did not expect his statement to get as much media attention as it did calling the quote "unintentionally" explosive.
"It is all a learning process, and we thank everyone for their support and respect of our privacy as we sort through very important family issues," Cyrus told the publication.
