Newly engaged rocker Bret Michaels underwent successful surgery to close a hole in his heart Monday.
The Associated Press reports that Michaels, 47, is recovering at a Phoenix, Ariz., hospital following the surgery.
Last year Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage, followed by what was called a "warning stroke."
Doctors found the hole in Michaels' heart following the brain hemorrhage, and they believe that blood flowing abnormally between the two chambers of the Michaels' heart due to the hole caused the "warning stroke," according to the AP.
Michaels recently got engaged to his longtime love and the mother of his children, Kristi Gibson.
