She was probably best known for her role in ?The Outlaw? back in 1941, and Jane Russell has passed away at the age of 89.
The Hollywood icon suffered from respiratory failure and died in her Santa Maria home yesterday (February 28).
Her daughter-in-law Etta Waterfield told press, ?She always said I?m going to die in the saddle, I?m not going to sit at home and become an old woman. And that?s exactly what she did, she died in the saddle.?
Ms. Russell had quite the body of work, including a part opposite Marilyn Monroe in the 1953 musical ?Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.? Jane and Marilyn sang a duet called ?Two Little Girls from Little Rock? as they sought romance in Paris, France.
Jane was married three times, with her most recent husband John Peoples succumbing to heart failure back in 1999. Russell told press, ?Without faith, I never would have made it.?
