Centy....I want to be on your side!!!

Eh. My side...there really are no sides here, just opinions.

I hope I'm wrong about Charlie. Seriously.

It's just that it takes one to know one, ya know.

This is my last post, so maybe it will be a little long, but I think it is a good story.

I was good friends with this guy from a quaint town in New Hampshire. Platonic, but close.

He was bipolar. He lived in an 1800's house that was gorgeous from the outside, but inside was a disaster. He couldn't afford to fix it up or heat it, he was living in front of a wood stove in the winter, sleeping in a sleeping bag.

He worked as a clerk at a gas station, but he got fired for insubordination.

Then, he got this idea that he would make organic pizzas and deliver them to specialty markets.

Except his oven was from the twenties, and when I pointed that out, he just brushed it off and continued on.

Stores were calling him on the phone, but he just let their messages go to vm.

After that, he decided to sell the house, move to Mass, get a job at a lab, "because I really need to work full time again, and I can discover great things."

He was certainly well qualifed to work at a lab.

He graduated from Dartmouth undergrad, and Harvard Medical School.

He was once the most successful allergist in New England, but he contracted bipoloar disorder, lost his medical license and then lived the life I described above.

I really liked this guy. I was willing to put up with his delusions, we walked our dogs together, skiied together, I was very friendly with his kids.

Yes, kids.

This man refused to take medication for bipolar disorder because he said it took away his "creativity."

I had a glass of wine with his eldest daughter a few years ago, she was 19, and was going to Dartmouth like Mom and Dad, and she cried and said, "Centy, please make Daddy take medication....he is just so weird, I am worried about him." She then admitted she was afraid she would turn out crazy, too.

I discussed his daughter's fears with him. He said he would think about them.

Ultimately, he would not take the medication.

I ended the friendship.

If you're on your own, single, fuck up your life.

If you've been stupid enough to spawn, your kid's lives trump yours.

That's what I think about Charlie Fucking Sheen.

Good night. :)
